Storymax is founded and led by Thomas Weemaes, the creative all-rounder behind the work. He films, directs, edits and develops concepts. He’s also a (podcast) host and voice-over. Thomas is your single point of contact from start to finish. You work together as one team, refining every detail until it’s right. If it’s not perfect, he doesn't deliver it. Behind him is a trusted network of freelance camera operators, photographers, editors and other creatives. They join when needed for larger productions or faster delivery.
Nice to meet you and let me introduce myself. I’m Thomas Weemaes (28), filmmaker and founder of Storymax Media. Raised in Hulst, in the south of the Netherlands, now based in Amsterdam.
My passion for media started early. I was making videos at twelve and joined a local broadcaster at fourteen. Studying journalism felt like a natural next step. During my minor in Audiovisual Storytelling, everything clicked. Film, sound and content came together. I won a news award and produced a documentary in Indonesia.
For my graduation internship, I worked as a producer on a national radio show at Qmusic, where I was also selected as a Qcollege finalist in their internal training program. After working as a journalist, videographer and global story creator for (inter)national companies, I founded Storymax Media in 2023. Creating the freedom to take on a wide range of inspiring and meaningful projects.
